Nestled in the foothills of the San Tan Mountains, Johnson Ranch is a 2,000 acre master-planned community. Johnson Ranch was developed with the goal of creating a great community with outstanding amenities and affordable housing. These outstanding amenities include a championship 18-hole golf course, community K-8 school, recreation centers, pools, parks, playgrounds and lighted basketball and tennis courts.
Just outside of Johnson Ranch, Fry's Food and Drug Store anchor’s the neighborhood center with a Bank of America branch. Johnson Ranch Homes
Currently (as of spring 2007), there are around 370 homes on the market in Johnson Ranch. The prices start around $175K for a 3bed, 2bath, 1400 sq. foot home and go up to $450K for a golf course lot house. This is one of the more affordable places to live in the entire Phoenix Valley.
Even though Johnson Ranch is a huge community, this is a lot of homes on the market. Our thoughts are that a lot of these homes are owned by investors who are now trying to dump their investments after the market has receded. This is one of the challenges to purchasing a home that is “farther out” because they are more susceptible to market conditions.

Location of Johnson Ranch
Johnson Ranch is located in the Southeast Valley in the Town of Queen Creek. It is just to the southeast of Hunt Highway and Ellsworth Road. A drawback to its location is the hour-plus commute time to downtown Phoenix. A lot of time is spent at a bottleneck with Hunt Highwayand Power Roads. However, the Loop 202 is now providing some relief to travel from Queen Creek to the rest of the valley.
Johnson Ranch Schools
Johnson Ranch has its own elementary school located right in the community. The K-8 elementary school, Johnson Ranch Elementary, is within walking distance of most homes in Johnson Ranch. High School students in Johnson Ranch will attend Florence High School.
