Estrella Mountain Ranch
Nestled in the Estrella Mountains (pronounced Es-tray-uh for you newcomers), Estrella Mountain Ranch is a secluded community that consists of different villages. Each village is composed of different neighborhoods based on concepts by different builders. These villages have their own parks, lakes, walking-paths and some are even located on the Nicklaus designed golf course.
The amenities at Estrella Mountain Ranch are endless, but here goes….a Starpointe fitness center, Nicklaus golf course, kids water park (with slides and a big dipper bucket), fishing, boating and yachting, 16-miles of hiking trails, tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits and numerous playgrounds. Currently, there are around 200 homes on the market in Estrella Mountain Ranch. The prices start around $230K for a 3bed, 2bath, 1400 sq. foot home and go up to 1.6 million for a golf course/lake house. Estrella Mountain Ranch is located in the West Valley and is about 45-minutes from downtown Phoenix. Just 10-minutes south of the I-10 interstate, Estrella is a short jaunt to the Loop 101 or 303. It should also be noted that they whole community has fiber-optic technology, so working from home is not an issue.
One of the drawbacks, some clients feel, is that the community is too secluded and there is not enough retail business in the nearby vicinity (you might have to drive 10 minutes to Target or Starbucks). If you are seeking more of a “suburbia” feel, Estrella Mountain Ranch may not be for you.
Schools in Estrella Mountain Ranch
Estrella Mountain Ranch has its own schools located right in the community. The two elementary schools are served by the Liberty School District. Estrella Foothills High Schoolis part of the Buckeye Unified School District. Visit our Goodyear Schools Page for more information on these schools.
The high school district and the elementary district have a modified school year schedule. The first day of school falls on the first week of August with the end of school falling on the last week in May. Additionally, weekly school breaks are in October, December, and March.
