Ocotillo is located in the vicinity of Alma School Road and Queen Creek Road in Chandler. It is just south of where the Loop 101 meets the 202 (San Tan Freeway). It is about a 25-minute commute to downtown Phoenix.

Ocotillo is part of the Chandler Unified School District.Elementary children in Ocotillo attend the Anna Marie Jacobson Elementary School or Basha Elementary School.
